Title Youth Development Professional

Minimum Salary: $9.00

Maximum Salary: $9.50

Education Level: Some college preferred

Locations: Adrian & Hudson

JOB SUMMARY

Establishes a program setting that insures the health and safety of members.
Assists in planning programs and activities.
Implement and carry out daily programs and activities in multiple core program areas.
Provides guidance services to youth ages 6-18.
Manages necessary program and activity record keeping.
Promotes and markets programs to members.

KEY DUTIES

Use training called 'Youth Development Strategy' adopted by the BGCL to enhance the potential for developing a sense of competence, belonging, usefulness, and influence.
Position yourself in program area to continually monitor, assist, and supervise with the safety and behavior of members. 
Ensures the program areas are safe using evacuation and emergency procedures posted and first aid kits.
Provide member guidance to help youth make appropriate choices about educational, personal, physical, social, emotional and vocational needs.
Ensure equipment is in good condition, with safety precautions posted (where needed) and members instructed in proper and safe use of equipment.
Promotes and markets programs to the member.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

Strong Verbal and Written communication; both to children, fellow staff and to parents.
Basic Computer Skills – Email, Word processing and internet navigation.
Basic Phone Skills- answering, transferring and paging.
Leadership Skills- Must be able to control a room of youth ages 6-18, as needed, and motivate youth. (some training will be provided)
CPR training, not required, but preferred.
Personal conduct must be one of high moral standards: honest, trustworthy, compassionate, encouraging, hard working, team player, self-motivated, puts children first above personal needs.

Salary: $9.00 /hour

Fall Hours: 3PM - 8PM, with occasional staff meetings after 8PM. No weekends required.
